The ThorPlas-Blue bearings were installed into the elevator support arms and greased to prevent corrosion of the pin.
Grease exposed to dirt becomes a grinding paste and accelerates wear of the pin and bearing. To prevent this happening
yellow and black O-rings have been installed at the joints (see photo above) to keep the grease in, under a little pressure,
and keep the dirt out. The expectation is for many years of service.
